Hospital Hill is divided into two parts:~
From the junction with Waterside and up to the new ‘Prospect House’ is a public Highway.
At the top, as you pass Prospect House, the road becomes a private road. This again is divided into several parts.
Merlebank
Are the apartments on your right-hand side (Going Uphill), at the beginning of the private road and is also private parking, dedicated to the residents.
Hospital Hill
From Prospect House up past numbers 1 to 5, is a private road. This road then services numbers 6 to 9, including garage entrances. There is a public right of way for Ambulances, Tradespeople, Environmental Services and Residents of Hospital Hill Itself. There is no ‘thoroughfare’ for other vehicles.
Private Land
There is a 10 foot strip of land running in front of numbers 1 to 5, including some land adjacent to number 5 that is private property and private residents parking. Not to be confused with the private road status passed Nos 1 thru 5.
Chesham Hospital
Formerly ‘Chesham Hospital’, this cottage hospital is under redevelopment by Chesham Care Ltd. This will be reopening as a Hospice and will once again be serviced by ambulances. A clear right of way has to be protected for the emergency vehicles. There is also a ‘hoarding’ that shuts off the site erected by The HSE. There are ‘No Parking’ signs on there to allow the developer’s vehicles access to the site.
